Intro

I'm Cherany, 25 years old, currently living on the Washington/Oregon border (USA), though I'm originally from Atlanta.

I live with my girlfriend, Amy. In many ways, she's my opposite, but we're a perfect match! ♥

We have two kids, a boy & a girl:

Princeton (Chow-mix)

Sasha (Beagle-mix)

My style is colorful & fun. I go to monthly clothing swaps where I snag tons of free stuff, and I shop in places like Wet Seal, Papaya, and Body Shop (the clothing store). I rarely buy anything that's not on clearance or dirt cheap to start with, because when it comes to clothes, I value quantity over quality. Things don't need to be that well-made when you have 365 outfits to make it through the year!

A few of my favorite things:

As you can see, I have trouble picking favorites. Case in point:

I change my hair a lot, because I can't choose a favorite look. I want them all! Thankfully, my hair grows at a decent pace.

Aside from shopping, photography is my top hobby. Though I've always enjoyed taking pictures, I'm just starting to learn the ropes of manual photography. I use a hybrid camera at the moment, because when I get an SLR, I'm going to want a kick ass lens, and that is way out of my price range right now. My camera has manual controls and a super zoom, but it's not as advanced as an SLR.

A few of my favorite shots from various events last summer:

I was fired from my crappy receptionist job back in September, and I haven't bothered to look for anything else yet. Being a housewife has its pros and cons: there's plenty of time to play Poupeé, but there's less reason to get dressed (for real) each day. The plan is to look for a part-time job in a photography studio, but so far, I've been too lazy to do it.

My high in the sky dream career would be as a singer.

Unfortunately, I can't sing a note. But I know good music when I hear it! In the past few years, I've really fallen in love with classical crossover.

VideoPlaylist
I made this video playlist at myflashfetish.com

My all-time favorite artist is Hayley Westenra, but as with everything else in life, I really have a million loves!

If you recognize these artists, you'll spot two that don't seem to fit. Darren Hayes and Amy Lee are two favorites of mine who don't perform classical music, though I find Amy's voice to be rather operatic and think she'd make a fantastic crossover singer.

I'll spare you my favorite foods (okay, I give in: pizza & alfredo pasta), and I think my favorite colors are covered pretty well throughout this post (Um, all of them! Actually, orange, yellow, and pink take the cake.). Anything else you want to know, just ask! (Well, within reason. If you're curious about my menstrual cycles or something, you might just want to keep that to yourself. :P)

Nice to meet you all! Here's my Poupeé if you want to add me.

I used to have different highlights every month. *laugh* but now it's almost everytime the same 'cause of money and my hair is really broken by now. Once I dyed my almost black hair blond and afterwards my hair was done for. ^^;

Yeah, I've done the black to blonde switch a couple times, actually, and it's brutal.

Thanks! I love that picture, too. I was wearing eyeliner on top & bottom, something I rarely do (usually do top only).

My family heritage is about 50% Native American (Creek & Cherokee), 25% German, and 25% generic white, as I like to call it, lol. People often mistake me for a foreigner: Mexican, Brazilian, European... I get them all! Just depends on how tan I am & what my hair looks like at the time.

Thank you for posting, I really enjoyed reading about your life!

Thank you!

I'm crazy about Darren! Before he got married (well, the second time around), I would always say he should marry me. After all, we have some major things in common: we're both obsessed with music, we're both gay... LOL.

I've loved him since his Savage Garden days, but his absolute best work is on This Delicate Thing, if you ask me.

Haha, we have a lot in common I guess!

Me too, I was pretty young when Savage Garden came out, and so it was actually my mother who ended up buying the CD, but after hearing it once I stole it and pretty much have worshipped it ever since. He's always been my favourite, and I DEFINITELY agree with you on TDTWM, and I actually just got my hands on the Time Machine Tour DVD (I had wanted to go but was writing a history final exam the DAY of the concert, and the venue was half my country away) and if you haven't seen it, YOU MUST. I almost cried during "I like the way", and I'm not a teary sort of person.

Darren is one of the only guys that really turns my crank, and I remember having a crush on him since I was was about 8..

It's so great to talk to another DH fan! My roommate is possibly even more nuts about him than I am, but it's neat to see people mention him here and there.

I don't have the DVD, so I'll have to get that. I honestly forgot about it! :/

I'm not one to use words like soul, but seriously, I am drawn to his soul. Just the way he feels so passionately and brings it across in his music... it's delicious!

And yes, it's great to talk music!

So did I, to be honest. I had a gift certificate about a week ago for HMV and went "..I wonder.." and lo and behold, there it was in the music DVD section.

I think that he's one of the few artists out there who actually seems willing to get intimate and personal with his listeners, I like your description and I feel that it really fits with Darren.

I also really like what you have playing in this entry, it's beautiful!

Thanks! There are actually a few different songs there, if you flip through. A couple instrumental; some vocal. (Sorry, no Darren!) The one you're referring to is by a pianist named Maksim - he's amazing & worth checking out!

So true what you said about Darren getting intimate & personal! He's just a heart on his sleeve kind of person, and I love that. ♥

GIRLL YOU ARE GORGEOUS! I love your hair here: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a9/shaquandalovelady/hairstyles.jpg and here: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a9/shaquandalovelady/hairstyles.jpg the most! But you look amazing with any color.

Princeton and Sasha are so freaking adorable! Can I has them :-D

I love your style, It's quirky and fun! Also, Is your name really Cherany? If it is, it's so unique and pretty :-)

Lol, thank you! I made the hairstyles one big picture, so I can't tell which ones you're talking about.

My name really is Cherany (pronounced like Sharon E. or share-a-knee). My parents stole it from a friend of the family, who actually had a reason for naming their daughter that (it was the name of a nurse who saved her father's life in the war in Germany). So, I got a great name, but without the great story. It is a German name, but it's not common there.

Sorry, you can't have my adorable dogs, but that reminds me of a weirdo I used to live next to who was seriously plotting to rob me, rape me, and STEAL MY DOG. (Princeton - he was convinced it was a rare Arctic breed worth money, even though I'd said he was a mix on many occasions.) God, I'm so glad I don't live next to that freak anymore! I trust you were just kidding! :D

Haha I didn't even notice! I was talking about the first and the second pictures.
All this time I've been pronouncing it chair-a-nee XD, oopss. But now I know better and you did get a great name.

WTF! What a freak! I would've been scared as hell!

Haha of course! I already have two doggies, imagine having four!
Photobucket As cute as that may be, NO THX!

Did I already see your dogs in this community? I want to see!

We used to have three, but it felt like five, because the third was HUGE, an Old English Sheepdog. This is the three of them in bed one morning with Amy:

That picture looks so dirty, because the Sheepdog was ALWAYS dirty, and he got dirt all over that fuzzy blanket, which we also no longer have. But dirt wasn't why we gave him away; he and Princeton starting getting into fights that just got worse and worse, until they nearly killed one another one night, and we knew one had to go.

Omg he's perfect! I want to hug him...All OF THEM!
That sucks, the same thing happened with my dogs.
They can't even be in the same room without fighting, so we have to keep them in seperate houses.

This is them:

Oh, Syd looks a little like Sasha! It's hard with two dominant dogs. Thankfully, Sasha is submissive as can be & gets along great with Princeton. She never really liked the Sheepdog (despite how it looks in the photo, lol), because he wanted to play all the time & she's scared to play with big dogs.
